This site is dedicated to the memory of Matthew Emery.

Matthew Emery was born in Stone,Staffordshire on 31st March 1973. He will be much loved and sadly missed by his wife Katrina and all of his family and friends. This page is in memory of Matt Emery who was just 37yrs old when his life was cut short.Matt was always smiling and had the best personality any man could ever have,he was everyones friend. He would always be able to lighten any mood and make people feel good no matter how bad there day, even towards the end of his life he put on a brave face, never moaned or complained and was always laughing and joking with his family, friends and doctors and nurses. Matt was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease in his early 20's,resulting in him having to have both of his Kidneys removed in November 2009,even with this and having to have dyalisis four times a week Matt still managed to have an enjoyable and fun time, this was mostly down to Matts zest for life. If this wasn't enough to contend with he was then diagnosed with Mylodisplasia/Acute Myeloid Leukemia.Matt then began a cruel and painful journey in which he had to go through months of intense chemotherapy. In July 2010 Matt had a Stem Cell Transplant from his brother which was a success and put Matt into remission and for the first time we hoped he was going to get better.Unfortunately due to Matts very weak immune system he contracted many infections that most of us could have recovered from, although Matt was a very strong person and had fought all of these aliments,in the end and after an intense battle Pneumonia finally took its toll and his life was taken from us all in February 2011. Matt was a devoted Husband to Katrina whom he adored and loved all the atoms and was his Princess.Matt was also a much loved son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend and he will always be in our hearts and minds forever and always. We would like to raise as much money as possible for the Renal Unit at North Staffs University Hospital and the BMT Ward at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, to thank them for all the care and support they gave to both Matt and Katrina in there last few precious months together.
